Just a quick note about the spliced feed…
I did say I was going to create a spliced feed of this blog and my professional blog.
I’ve not forgotten but I’m going to see how sit on the idea for a little bit in case I can think of any negative issues with the idea. Making the context (ie the which blog a post has come from) REALLY clear is important to me.
It’s also not something you can ‘pull back’ once you’ve released it, so it needs some consideration. Finally, I’m also wondering about mixing in my Flickr stream too. What do people think? let me know!

[…] PS: I probably will set up a feed splice of my two blogs for those who want one, but I’m currently tossing up a few issues… as discussed over on the other blog. […]

Ben,
Personally, I prefer your two seperate feeds. From a (human) reader point of view, the distinction between the two sites is handy - I can categorise them far easier (i.e. one tech related and the other general interesting stuff), which allows me to sort out which feeds I want to check on and can get away checking at work!
That’s my tupenny’s worth anyhow

I know bloglines (not sure about other aggregators), tells you what category a post is in when you read it. So, you could change your categories in order to make it obvious if its personal or professional, eg - general : personal, or
microsoft : professional
Just a thought

hmm - if people really want both then they can just subscribe to both feeds.. may be worth while making it obvious that you have 2 different blogs though on each of the sites as it isn’t very clear now.
flickr is a difficult one.. mixing the 2 is fine but really goes against what you are trying to do. Do you want your wedding photos mixed in with your latest conference visit? Maybe the tags will help sort them out..

I personally like the idea of being able to grab a feed which is “all one person”. I usually follow people more than particular types of writing/publishing.
So I’d like all your blogs, Flickr photos, bookmarks and Twitters, please
